Ernesto Lupercio

Cinvestav, Mexico

Prof. Ernesto Lupercio earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1997 under the guidance of Ralph L. Cohen.

He was awarded the ICTP Ramanujan Prize in 2009, “for his outstanding contributions to algebraic topology, geometry and mathematical physics.”

Lecture 1.1. Orbifolds as Stacks: In this lecture, we will interpret orbifolds as stacks and then introduce twisted sectors and the like. Lecture 2.1. Motivic Integration: We will introduce the basics of motivic integration.
Lecture 1.2. Stringy Cohomology and Localization: This lecture will explain what Stringy cohomology is and how localization methods allow us to understand some of its properties. Lecture 2.2. Stringy Chern Classes: We will explain how all the previous come together to study stringy Chern classes of singular varieties.
