Prof. Oleg Mushkarov

Director

Oleg Mushkarov obtained his Ph.D. and D.Sc. degrees in 1979 and 1999, respectively, at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IMI- BAS ). In 2001 he became a full professor at IMI-BAS, in 2012 he was elected Corresponding member and in 2021 Full member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Currently, he is the chairman of the Scientific Council of IMI-BAS and the Director of the International Center for Mathematical Sciences – Sofia.

Prof. Ludmil Katzarkov

Scientific Director

Ludmil Katzarkov is a full professor at the University of Miami and the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He is Executive Director of the Institute of the Mathematical Sciences of the Americas (IMSA) and a Scientific Director of the International Center for Mathematical Sciences – Sofia (ICMS – Sofia). In 2022, L. Katzarkov was elected a member of the Academia Europaea.

Prof. Velichka Milousheva

Deputy Director

Velichka Milousheva obtained her PhD degree in 2006 in the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences under the supervision of Prof. Georgi Ganchev. In 2018, she became a full professor in the Department of Analysis, Geometry and Topology at this institute. Currently, she is a Deputy Director of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics responsible for the academic development, national, European and international projects and programmes.

Dr. Antoni Rangachev

Scientific Advisor

Antoni Rangachev obtained his BSc from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and his PhD from Northeastern University (NEU) in 2017 under the direction of Terence Gaffney and Steven Kleiman. He is a Peter Beron fellow at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and a scientific advisor at the International Center for
Mathematical Sciences – Sofia. From 2017 to 2021, Antoni Rangachev was a Dickson Instructor at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Chicago.
